Combination bus and bike tour with three internal flights. Support vehicle will be provided during days 5 through 15 from Chengdu into Western Sichuan and back to Chengdu. At other times, riders carry there own day gear (in Beijing and Xian).
Day 1: Arrival in Beijing (32km cycling)
Biking in Beijing’s ( hutong )- narrow allies to get a feel for the rapidly disappearing Old Beijing.
Day 2: Beijing (32km cycling)
City tour by bike. Tian’anmen Square, Forbidden City, Summer Palace and Temple of Heaven.
Day 3: Beijing/Xi an
Excursion by motor vehicle to Great Wall and Ming Tombs. Fly to Xi an in the evening.
Day 4: Chengdu (32km cycling)
Excursion by motor vehicle to Terracotta Warriors. Bike around the city wall. Fly to Chengdu in the evening.
Day 5: Wolong (41km cycling)
Take transport part way. Visit the Wolong Panda Nature Reserve
Day 6: Rilongguan (80km cycling)
China Bike tour
Take transport part way and/or cycle to the Balangshan Pass (4,550 meters, 14,950 feet). Cycle 31 km down to Rilongguan at the base of Four Sisters Mountains.
Day 7: Rilongguan (32km cycling)
Hike and cycle in this scenic area.
Day 8: Xiaojin Xian (60km cycling)
Visit Wori Defensive Tower, a Buddhist Temple, an Islamic Mosque and a Catholic Church
Day 9: Danba (60km cycling)
Visit a Lamasery and a Tibetan Buddhist Temple.
Day 10: Danba (32km cycling)
Visit surrounding defense towers.
Day 11: Kangding (100km cycling)
Cycle along the Dadu River. Take transport part way to Kangding
Day 12: Kangding (32km cycling)
Explore this Tibetan town with a visit to a Tibetan Temple and soak in hot spring baths
Day 13: Moxi (92km cycling)
Cycle through Luding, a historic place where Chairman Mao crossed the river with his Red Army on his Long March. Visit the museum with some artifacts.
Day 14: Moxi (32km cycling)
Explore Hailuogou Glacier Park including a walk on the glacier and soak in the hot spring bath
Day 15: Chengdu
Transport back to Chengdu. Acrobat and Sichuan Opera show in the evening.
Day 16: Shanghai (32km cycling)
City tour by bike in the old town, the Bund, Yu Garden, Shanghai Museum, etc. Evening cruise on Huangpu River.
Day 17: Shanghai
End to tour. Transport to Shanghai Airport
