33 Days Cycling From Thailand To Laos And Vietnam -Tour starts from Bangkok and finishes in Ho Chi Minh City We start cycling to Khao Yai national park, then to Surin. From there, we cycle to visit the Elephant Village and cycle on the most beatiful rural part of Thailand to enjoy the scenery, the endless sugar cane farm and casava.We aim to take tourists to see REAL Thailand through the northeastern part of Thailand UNTOUCHED by tourists and connecting tour from Hanoi to Hue and To Ho Chi Minh along the beautiful coastlines of Vietnam is a fascinating country with a distinctive culture and a long and extraordinary history.

Day 1: Bangkok to Khao Yai National Park

Pick up from your hotel in Bangkok by our experienced English speaking cycling guide. Bike fitting and tour briefing. Transfer about 1 hour 15 minutes from Bangkok to Saraburi to avoid cycling in the busy trafic in Bangkok. We stop for rest room in the gas station and get ready for cycling on the back road to Khao Yai National Park. We stop for lunch before climbing to our hotel. Dinner and overnight in Khao Yai.

Day 2: Khai Yai to Surin

Breakfast at the hotel. We start cycling a bit down hill to enjoy the fresh air. We stop for water after cycling and enjoying for a while and slow down to see this one of the most beautiful National Park. It is the biggest and longest hills which is just a couple hours from Bangkok and situated between Saraburi until Cambodia border. Lunch stop will be around 50km. After lunch we cycle for another 45km on more flat road.r and overnight in Surin.

Day 3: Surin to Roi Et

Breakfast at the hotel. Get ready and start cycling from our hotel by taking back road. Soon we get to quiet small road which is suitable for cycling. We stop for water and visit “Ban Chang” means Elephant Village and learn how elephants connect with the people in the village. The villagers should to take good care of the elephants but not riding. Afternoon, we continue cycling on the quiet road to complete 80km. and overnight in Roi Et.

Day 4: Roi Et to Khon Kaen

Breakfast at the hotel. We transfer about 30 minutes from the busy part of the town, then set off our bikes to cycle off the main road along the beatiful rice fields. This part of Surin and Khon Kaen are the biggest part to produce rice where the road to Udon Thani has more farming of sugar canes and casava. We stop for lunch about Km 50 and after lunch we cycle the last 29km to our hotel to relax at the pool. and overnight in Khon Kaen.

Day 5: Khon Kaen to Udon Thani

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, we cycle on the most beautiful part of rural Thailand from one villages to another and we stop to take photos quite often. Afternoon, we cycle through many nice scenery starting with rice fields, endless sugar palm farm and casava. Then we reach to the villages and out to the farms and fields again as the scenery keep changing. There are a bit of down hills and up hills but not much climb just about 150m to 300m high.and overnight in Khon Kaen.

Day 6: Udon Thani to Vientiane

Breakfast at the hotel. Today we cycle straight from the hotel. Watch out for the traffic for the first 5 to 10km. Then we get to the quiet road through the countryside. Today cycling route is relatively flat with maximum altitude 150m high. We cycle on some of the very small roads through the countryside and the villages in the remote areas. Then we reach out to Nong Khai, the border town separated Nong Khai (Thailand) and Vientiane (Laos) by the Mekong River. Late afternoon, proceed to the border crossing point at the foot of the bridge. We get our lugguages and put of the bus as we change the support vehicle. Then stamp out at Thailand immigration and cross the 2km bridge and get the visa on arrival USD35 per person with 1 photo at Laos side. Then continue our journey to Vientiane which is 15km from the border.  and overnight in Vientiane.

Day 7: Vientiane – Free Day

Breakfast at the hotel. Today, we have free day from cycling to wander around Vientiane or city tour on your own. Overnight in Vientiane. (B)

Day 8: Vientiane to Nam Ngum Lake

Breakfast at the hotel. Fill in water and be prepared for our biking day. Event Vientiane is a quiet capital city comparing to their neighboring countries but the road is still busy. So, we ride to follow a single line and watch for the traffic. We stop in a Hmong market for s short break. Lunch on route. Afternoon, we head to Nam Ngum lake, the biggest reservoir in Laos. and overnight on the edge of Nam Ngum lake.

Day 9: Nam Ngum Lake to Vang Vieng

After breakfast, we prepare for our hard day biking. We stop every 20km for drink and snack stop. Overall route is modulated and steep hill on some part. We will arrive in Vang Vieng known as the gate to Northern Laos or backpacker’s paradise a busy town which packed of young tourist from all over the world because of its charming landscape and variety of fund activities.

Day 10: Vang Vieng to Kiew Ka Cham

After breakfast, fill in water and be prepared to get on the bike. Today is the hard part of cycling with some up hills and down hills. So, we will start a bit early. You will be high in the mountains for the first half of the day following a ridge line up and down with peaks all around. In the afternoon it is time to relax a bit as the road is largely downhill along a valley to our overnight stop of Kiew Ka Cham, a small village on top of the mountains. Few people stop here overnight so the accommodation is very simple. It is special experience to stay in such a place.

Day 11: Kiew Ka Cham to Luang Prabang

After breakfast. We begin our cycling heading to Luang Prabang. We pass through lush forest and many small H’Mong villages that sit dwarfed by the amazing landscape of limestone mountains that surround them. Enjoy lunch with some snack, local fruits, and drinks. Then we have a 20 minutes power nap before continue cycling to Luang Prabang. After lunch we are faced with what is without doubt the most difficult part of cycling but also one of the most rewarding with two huge uphill climbs. Dinner and overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 12: Luang Prabang (Kuang Sii Waterfall)

After a restful day we hit the bikes for a ride to the stunning Kuang Sii Waterfall. The ride is along a small road alongside the Mekong River passing through small villages, rice fields and forest. At the waterfall enjoy a swim, picnic lunch and a visit to the tiger and bear rescue centre before riding back to Luang Prabang.

Day 13: Luang Prabang to Pak Mong

Today is our longest bike ride. Early morning, we cycle on the main road passing Pak Ou . It has the famous tourist attraction, Pak Ou caves. Then we cycle along Nam Ou river. It is an interesting to cycle along the river through villages to enjoy the rural lives. Enjoy picnic lunch on the river bank and take a power nap before heading to Ban Thabu. The end of the day, we finally arrive at PaMong. and overnight in PaMong.

Day 14:Pak Mong to Oudomxai

After breakfast, we fill in the water and then we will begin cycle on the flat road to warm up our musscles before climing with hill after hill but the scenery is magnificient. Then take a break to enjoy snack, fresh fruits and drinks to get energy before continuing to cycle to Oudomxai. Overnight in Oudomxai

Day 15: Muang Khua to Oudomxai

After breakfast, we cycle 75km on the main road to Muang khua. This is a scenic lightly traveled road to bustling Muang khua. During the second Indochina War, the provincial capital became the center for Chinese troops supporting Pathet Laos. Today, it is the junction of National Road 1, 2 and 4 has made its position a booming alos – China trade center.

Day 16: Muang Khau to Dien Bien Phu

Early morning we cycle along Nam Ou river to the Boder. This northeast area has the least population of Laos. After Lunch we will crossing Laos North-East border at Tay Tran. You have to get Vietnam visa in advance in order to cross vietnam land border. Vietnam visa on arrival can be obtained only arrival at the airport and some boder . In the afternoon, we continue cycling to Dien Bien phu .It used to be the big battle field between the French and Vietnamese when Vietnam fought again the French to get independence.

Day 17: Dien Bien Phu to Tuan Giao

Take a hardest but challenging ride this day to Tuan Giao and Dien Bien Phu, on a rough tarmac terrain all the way, but you will be rewarded with the stunningly beautiful scenery and untouched remote villages. Overnight in Tuan Giao.

Day 18: Tuan Giao- Than Uyen

Take a brutal ride this day to Sin Ho and Lai Chau and get a reward of truly spectacular views. The ride is on the main road, uphill and tarmac downhill, mixed of gravel and hard pack clay. Overnight in Than uyen.

Day 19:Than Uyen – Tam Duong (Phong Tho) – Sapa

Cycling shortly uphill as warm up to the Binh Lu, before starting a long descent ride to Tram Ton Pass and ride a truly off the beaten track (jeep track) mixed of hard pack gravel and clay to Sapa. The Queen of Mountains, Sapa sits regally overlooking a beautiful valley, lofty mountains towering over the town on all sides. Sapa is the French hill station was built in 1922. Over night in Sapa.

Day 20: Sapa Valley afternoon ride –overnigh on the train to HANOI

After breakfast in hotel.you have free time to walking around sapa after Lunch we transfer to Lao Cai for the train to Hanoi. Lao Cai is on the gateways to China, Lao Cai lies at the end of the train line on the Chinese border. The border crossing slammed shut during the 1979 war between China and Vietnam and remained closed until 1993. Lao Cai is now a major hub for travellers journey between Hanoi,Sapa.overnight on the train.

Day 21:Hanoi Free day 

Good morning Hanoi.transfer to restaurant for breakfast . check in hotel and free day .

Day 22 : Hanoi-Mai Chau
Pick up at your hotel at 7:30 Am. Transfer out of Hanoi city to Luong Son – picturesque landscapes. Stop to cycle to Mai Chau village via Kim Boi hot spring and Bai Chao villages. Lunch at a local restaurant. and cycling to Cao Phong and Man Duc villages. Arrive in Mai Chau villages trekking to Lac village and dinner and overnight in the homestay of white Thai ethnic.

Day 23 : Mai Chau – Ngoc Lac

Breakfast in a Thai village house before setting off along a spectacularly beautiful river valley towards Hoi Xuan along an undulating tarmac road. The road follows the flow of River Song Ma. This is an old supply route of the HCM Trail that fed the main trail with ammunition during the American War with Vietnam.. just passing scenes of local village life and rice paddies. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 24: Ngoc Lac – Thai Hoa
Early morning starts to beat the heat of the day. The route takes us away from the river and appears to contour through the same mountain range that stretches from Ngoc Lac to Thai Hoa on Ho Chi Minh trails. The road gets more beautiful the closer you ride to Ngoc Lac with looming karst limestone cliffs and lush vegetation. The route is tarmac all the way but quite hard riding due to the undulating terrain. We ride on the newly built two-lane Ho Chi Minh Highway for the first time. It hardly warrants two lanes as there is no traffic! The road makes for smooth fast riding, and for those who prefer there is always the old highway dirt and gravel – that weaves around the new highway allowing for plenty of exploring possibilities along the way.  Ride to Muc Son, on the banks of River Song Chu. On the outskirts of this small town are the famous Kan Linh historical relics – a pagoda where the first king of the Ly dynasty, Le Thai To, ruled, in 1428. Continue riding on the trail to Yen Cat. The distance covered today is quite long and there will be the chance to transfer some sections by the backup vehicle to rest weary legs. There are fewer villages today as the route cuts through forests and jungles. Picnic lunch en route. Overnight Thai Hoa guesthouse. 80+ km.

Day 25: Thai Hoa-Nghe An
Continue riding the incredible Ho Chi Minh Trail. Have lunch in Lat town. Kim Lien visit the famous museum and birthplace of Ho Chi Minh in 1890. This province has a reputation for producing charismatic revolutionary leaders; not only Ho Chi Minh but also Phan Boi Chau – another fervent anti-colonialist -was born here. Overnight in Nghe An Town. 100 km.

Day 26 : Nghe An-  Phong Nha National Park
From Nghe An to Huong Khe the mountains rise and the road winds up, down, and along the hillsides. The scenery is spectacular, the road tranquil. Ride up to 80km then transfer the last few km to Phong Nha National Park. The park contains one of the most spectacular caves in Vietnam, It is a true speleological wonder. Visit the cave by boat then wander through the cavern, past the foundations of ancient Cham ruins. Pause to admire the incredible formation of stalactites and stalagmites. Formed approximately 250 million years ago Phong Nha was used as a hospital and ammunition depot during the war, the entrance still showing evidence of fighter aircraft attacks. There are community projects underway with Flora and Fauna International and it may be possible to visit village initiatives and learn more about the forests of the National Park. Overnight at the National Park. 70 km.

Day 27: Phong Nha National Park-Hue
Explore Phong Nha Cave in the early morning. Continue riding on the Ho Chi Minh Trail across the DMZ  (better known as the 17th Parallel,) to Cam Lo. The road is now quite flat and makes for good cruising! Stop en route to visit Truong Son Cemetary, a memorial to the tens of thousands of North Vietnamese soldiers who were killed in the Truong Son Mountains along the Ho Chi Minh Trail.  Fourteen miles further on is the town of Cam Lo – the Trail here intersects a strategic feeder road (H9) from Dong Ha and at this junction part of the Ho Chi Minh Trail heads across the country into Laos. We finish our exploration of the Ho Chi Minh trail here. This is where we end the cycling section of the Ho Chi Minh Trail. Transfer to Hue visiting war relics en route. Explore dinner by your own account. Overnight Hotel in Hue. 70 km.

Day 28: Hue – Hoi An (135 km)
Hue was the capital of Vietnam under the Nguyen Dynasty of emperors from 1802 till 1945. In the morning cycle to the elaborate mausoleums of Emperor Tu Duc and Khai Dinh along the banks of the Perfume River. Leave Hue in the afternoon for the ancient trading port of Hoi An 120km to the south via the spectacular Pass of Ocean Clouds. Arrive in Hoi An late afternoon and transfer to the hotel. Visit Hoi An’s historic town center or perhaps cycle to Cua Dai Beach 5km away. Explore dinner by your own account. Overnight in Hoi An.

The landscape between Phan Rang and Phan Thiet changes to an arid semi-desert with sandy soil and prickly pear cactus. In Phan Thiet turn off to the Mui Ne Peninsula with its sandy white beaches and swaying coconut palms. Overnight in Phan Thiet.
