Chieng Mai Biking To Chiang Dao . From Chiang Mai, join us for a great mountain biking adventure, discovering small hill tribes villages and witnessing authentic rural life of North Thailand. Enjoy a rich cultural experience through this rewarding 2 days trip. The valley around Doi Chiangdao mountain unfold scenic views of Thailand’s third highest peak and interesting tourist attractions as elephant camps, the Chiangdao caves, and various hill-tribe villages.
DAY 1 – CHIANG MAI TO CHIANGDAO (Approx. 30 to 40 km cycling / 25 miles)
After breakfast, pick-up at your hotel at 8:00 Am and drive in covered pick-up truck north to Chiangdao area. Stop at an elephant camp nestled in lush jungle surrounding. Watch the elephants bathing and demonstrating their skills. (Optional, only for participants wanting to stop and visit the camp).Then we start our bike ride along typical North Thailand countryside, followed by some forest and valley trails, leading to small hill tribe villages. Visit Lahu, Lisu and Akkha villages, also discover the Palaung people, who originate in Myanmar and have only a few settlement in Northern Thailand. After a visit of the villages and taking a refreshment, we ride the last few kilometers to reach the Padeng Lodge, our overnight accommodation.
Relax and shower watching the sunset over the Chiangdao mountain range, before an excellent Thai dinner.

DAY 2 – CHIANG DAO BACK TO CHIANG MAI (Approx. 40 km cycling / 25 miles)
Today is an easy cycling day in great natural surroundings! Most cycling is on paved road, though the first section is a fast moving easy trail through the forest, leading to a Lisu village. Our escort vehicle is always around (except during raining season). Ride over paved road to reach our lunch place at a local restaurant. Afternoon cycling mostly on narrow rural lanes eventually leading to the Chiangdao caves. Explore the caves and relax until we will have our vehicle transfer back to your Chiang Mai hotel.
